5 Reasons To Log Your Workouts

There are a number of reasons why tracking your workouts is highly beneficial in order to make them more efficient, effective and fun. From keeping track of your workouts on each day, to logging the weights you use or simply logging just your cardio for that day, here’s 5 reasons why you should log your workout journey.

  • You can monitor your progress.
Being able to visually see how far through something you are will also help to show how far you’ve came too. In terms of weight logging, you’ll also see how your strength has improved, declined or stayed the same over time…this is a great way to figure out where improvements are needed.
  • You’ll get a better understanding of what works for YOU.
As you track the workouts and plans that you do, you’ll be able to find the ones that work best for your body. Those plans may include rep/set ranges or certain exercises that are more beneficial for you!
  • Your workouts will be more effective.
Rather than wasting time on ineffective workout time, having more guidance will help you get more out of each and every workout by how to do what you need to do to hit your goals. From form guide videos, sets, reps, exercises, rest intervals etc. these things will make your workouts more efficient for the time you put in to them.
  • Eliminate workout confusion.
Keeping track of everything will leave you with less doubt about what you’re doing and your progress over time. It helps take out the guess work of just showing up at the gym without a plan and just going on auto-pilot.
  • Share your progress.
Keeping track of your workouts and progressing throughout your journey will allow you to also share what you’ve accomplished. This is both great for others with similar goals and your own motivation to keep pushing. Celebrate the small wins as much as the big ones!
